Membership and Membership Benefits of Joining the Irish Wolfhound Club of Canada
All members of the IWCC, like our forefathers, pledge to follow the Club Code of Ethics for the purpose of protecting and preserving our beloved breed. Breed clubs play a crucial role in preserving the heritage and integrity of the Irish Wolfhound breed, ensuring it continues to thrive for future generations. With membership, it demonstrates an investment and an association with individuals committed to leaving this breed better than when they started.
As a member you will be connected to a community of mentors and like-minded individuals who will share their experiences. If you are interested in acquiring an Irish Wolfhound, the club can provide you with a list of reputable breeders who adhere to the Breed standard and ethical breeding practices.
They will help answer your questions and provide suggestions, tools and tips in many areas of interest including conformation and other events such as lure coursing, rally, agility and obedience to name a few.
They will provide educational opportunities to help you make sound decisions in health matters and breeding practices as you move forward. Members may receive newsletters, publications or access to a members-only section of the club’s website with exclusive content, such as articles, research and breeding information.
The National Club is involved in rescue and welfare efforts for the breed. Members often are called on to participate in these initiatives or support rescue efforts through their membership.
Through Area Branch activities, they will become a social networking group for meeting at performance events, Fun Days and Celtic Festivals in your area and nationally. These are excellent times to educate the public and to build comradery amongst exhibitors. The club may organize events like dog shows, specialty shows or performance trials where you can showcase your Irish Wolfhound or learn about the breed’s conformation and performance abilities.
The Club could benefit from your personal expertise and professional experience as there are a wealth of volunteer opportunities in which you can become involved.
